In Time

         

When time is everything,

it can be bought , spent , earned , saved , borrowed.

Your life is pretty much dependent upon it.

The poor will die young,

while the rich will live forever.

The time on earth is not as important as

what we do while we are alive.

We can live 1000 years and 

do nothing good to the world

or

we can just live only a few decades

and make the world a better place.

If all of us can live forever,

the world will end before its time

and the environment cannot sustain all of us.

So most have to die 

while a few can live eternally.

That agrees with Pareto 80/20 rule.

Nobody says that life will be fair,

to get ahead in life

and achieve what we want in life .

We just have to work harder 

and think differently.

Only that 

time will be more of value to you 

than others.

The Finale is coming

As of 26th of October 2011,

flood is already in some part of Bkk

and others are evacuating in the countryside.

Some are starting to panic about the crisis,

others are ready,

the rest are suffering.

Fear sometimes brings us realisation of the situation 

before it happens

and when it happens ,

we may be calm about it 

as we have already prepared and know that it will happen.

Better prepared for the worst.

 Even though the worst may not happen,

we will not regret not preparing at all.

On the contrary,

to be overprepared and stock the food too much 

while the others are starving is regarded as selfish.

So , not too much not too little 

would be essential.

Most importantly,

be alert but not afraid.

Our conscience will show us how to survive

no matter what happens.

At this moment,

nobody can be sure that 

Bangkok will be saved from the flood.

Only when and how high 

the flood will be.

Sooner or later 

the water will have to get through Bkk

and into the gulf of Thailand.

We just have to make the waterway

for them to flow to the ocean

with the least damage as possible.

Time to do what we can 

and most importantly,

stop fighting and blaming each other.

Instead,

do our part and do what we do best

and 

together 

we can survive..

A great man

The death of Steve Jobs seemed to be one of the biggest news yesterday.

He was one of the great man of this century.

A co-founder of Apple who was kicked out of his own company

he didn't give up

and went on to do what he loved

and his success brought him back to his home company

where he made it to the top of the world

even greater than the highest past success Apple ever had

with the newest technology of the i-family : i-pods , i-phones , i-pads.

What defines greatness of a man 

has actually been revealed

when one has passed away.

Many billionaires have died in the past 

but not that many would be in the front page of 

the newspaper around the world.

So the great man 

is the one who makes impact of the world

when one is alive 

and change the world in a better way.

Steve Jobs is one of the great man the world ever has.

Rest In Peace, a great man.

PDCA

For those in management area will know

what PDCA is?

But for those who are not so familiar with it,

it is 

P (Plan)  D (Do)   C ( Check)  A (Act)

It is not only good for management field 

but also in many other fields.

I do believe that

whatever field you are working in,

management is surely something you have to do

and this PDCA will help you in your job hopefully.

In whatever you do ,

if you plan it first of what is needed to be done

the job will be half done already

as you and the others will know what are you doing and why are you doing it.

After the good planning,

the doing has to follow.

The plan that is stuck in your head and not implemented is worthless.

After things are said and done,

you will have to check how your plans work 

and what is needed to be fixed or kept.

Then , after thorough checking and knowing of what to be done,

act to change it 

and the cycle repeats with the planning

for the edited new process again.

Patient comes from ...

Do you know why people call those 

in the hospital beds patient???

This could be that

when the people resting in the bed for recovery

they would want to try to get better as fast as possible

so they can get out and do other things 

instead of doing nothing on the bed.

So the doctors and the nurse have to tell them to be patient.

And when it is used often , the sick in the hospital becomes patient.

Life needs patience to get what is right in life.

Sometimes when something comes too soon , 

and you are not ready for it 

you cannot keep it well.

Only those that comes in the right time

after all the practice and hard work

you will know how to embrace it 

and take care of the good fortune wisely.

There is actually nothing at the end of the road 

only the enjoyment and excitement of the journey

so why hurry to end so much ??

Just take one step at a time ,

rest when you want,

seize the day

and the end will be rewarding.

Why economics?

Economics seems to be intimidating to many,

unlike psychology where it sounds more fun to learn.

Economics doesn't only deal with 

GDP , unemployment and other silly numbers

that are irrelevant to our daily life,

but it does give us a new notion to life 

in terms of how to allocate our precious assets - money.

Economics teaches us how to manage our money 

and make decision wisely.

However, how the concept may be taught 

will surely be different in each course depending on the instructors.

The concept itself is actually worth learning 

as it will increase our financial knowledge apart from those professional knowledge

that we will get to learn in the course in university.

Many professionals have failed to manage the money 

and have problems in life despite their high incomes.

This is due to their lack of financial knowledge.

Well, at least there is a saying 

better know something than know nothing at all.

It doesn't hurt to gain new knowledge anyway.

So , do you know how to manage your money???

Good luck in Japanese

I just learnt today that

there is no exact meaning of good luck in Japanese.

There is only "ganbatte" 

which means 

"do your best".

This shows that 

Japanese don't believe in luck 

but the effort of oneself.

If you try your best,

there is nothing to be disappointed about.

So there is nothing more important 

than trying your best 

and just believe in luck 

like other nations.

birthday

We all have a special day once a year.

We seem to be looking forward to this day 

to celebrate with friends and family

and also

to expect the presents from others.

That is traditional thought.

But things are about to change (or may have changed).

Some try to give out more on this special occasion

which is a good thing.

This special day is supposed to be 

a giving day 

not a receiving day 

like many would have wanted.

Each birthday reminds us

 of how long we have breathe in this world

and also to cherish the good things others do for us 

especially those brought us to this world.

Also, to realise that we haven't done much good things

and should help out and pay it forward more of what we have gained.

When we die , we can take nothing with us 

only the experience and good and bad things we did.

So why waste this special day on celebration and alcohol???
